Curriculum

 

In addition to the research project the curriculum consists of the following core components.

 

Introductory week is offered to first year students and provides an overview of research at the MDC and introduces platform technologies and facilities on Campus.

PhD Lecture Series Molecular Cell Biology; All faculty members present an overview of their personal research and give an outlook of recent developments in their field.

MDC Seminar Series; Seminar series in different MDC research areas such as the Systems Biology Friday Seminar or Wollenberger Semina give students the opportunity to present their research to the MDC community.

Career Development Program/ Summer School offers workshops that strengthen students' soft skills such as oral presentation skills or scientific writing. These courses also include German classes and IT courses.

Methods workshop at the MDC or abroad.

MDC/FMP PhD Retreat; an opportunity to meet fellow students outside the lab, present your research and network with the Campus community to foster scientific and social interactions.

PhD Symposium on campus

International conferences are supported by travel grants.
