From basic discoveries to clinical applications
The Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC)

The mission of the ECRC is to expand and strengthen interdisciplinary activities between basic and clinical researchers and to shorten the pathway from discovery to clinical applications. New approaches will be developed for patients in the areas of diagnosis, prevention and therapy for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, cancer, and neurological diseases.
As a common structure established by the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine and the Charité Medical Faculty, Berlin, the ECRC offers excellent opportunities for the education in translational research and unique conditions for patient-oriented research and clinical studies in a research-driven environment.
A special ward for clinical research, a growing number of outpatient clinics, a GMP facility for cellular vaccines to be used in immunotherapy, and well-equipped research laboratories are included in the ECRC. In addition, access is provided to state-of-the-art ultrahigh-field MR imaging technology on the campus.
