IT-Helpdesk employee/ Linux (m/f/d)

Job Description

  • support of scientific working groups with setup and support of Linux systems
  • reception and independent processing of incoming fault reports by telephone and ticket system (Matrix42)
  • assisting colleagues with MacOS and Windows support as holiday/sick leave cover
  • support/advise for general questions about IT systems; user management
  • collaboration in scientific projects (e.g. platforms for AI applications) and administration (e.g. digitalization projects


  • completed training as an IT specialist for system integration, or a comparable qualification and professional experience in the tasks mentioned
  • sound knowledge and practical experience in dealing with systems under Linux are necessary
  • knowledge of automation, management and monitoring systems under Linux such as Puppet, Ansible, SLURM, or CheckMK, as well as the administration of own RPM repositories is an advantage
  • knowledge of infrastructures/networks (in particular Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
  • fluent German and English skills
