The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) is a member of the Helmholtz Association of National Research Centers, supported by the Federal Government of Germany and the Senate of Berlin. It is dedicated to interdisciplinary biomedical research with the aim to translate basic research findings into clinical applications. To support scientific developments, the MDC’s technology platforms and core facilities provide scientific service, state-of-the-art technologies, expert consultation and collaboration for research groups. The scientific infrastructures offer multiple technologies for life science researchers.
For the department of Scientific Infrastructure, the student assistant will support the implementation of a resource booking and project management software for technology platforms. Responsibilities include but are not limited to data import and database maintenance, testing on verifying tools and new features.
Applicants should be master´s students in Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, or related subjects at a Berlin university. Students who have already obtained their master´s degree are not eligible to apply. Experience with life science technologies are of advantage.
Further requirements are:
• interest in software implementation
• adept at learning new software
• excellent organizational skills
• strong attention to detail and precision
• understanding of technology platform or core facility concepts
• professional command of both spoken and written English
