Material Transfer

The transfer of materials and research tools is an essential part of scientific research. The Office of Technology Transfer supports MDC scientists with agreements to transfer proprietary materials, software or data sets into and out of MDC.

All material transfer agreements (MTAs) covering incoming material, where the MDC is receiving research materials from other entities, as well as outgoing material, where we are sharing the MDC's research materials with other entities, must be reviewed and signed by the legal department to ensure that the provisions contained are consistent with MDC’s policies. Please contact the Technology Transfer Office for assistance with any MTAs.

Companies interested in receiving materials may require a license from the MDC if the materials are to be used for commercialization purposes. MDC Researchers should notify the Technology Transfer Office of any companies requesting their materials so that the legal department may negotiate and execute appropriate licensing arrangements.
