Application of adult-derived human satellite cells
Journal of Clinical Investigation
Simone Spuler, Helena Escobar and Andreas Marg demonstrate that satellite cells can be successfully expanded from human adult muscle biopsies in culture and transplantation of satellite cell-containing human muscle fiber fragments into irradiated mice restores damaged muscle tissue.

Dysferlin-peptides reallocate mutated dysferlin thereby restoring function
Public Library of Science one
Mutations in the dysferlin gene cause the most frequent adult-onset limb girdle muscular dystrophy, LGMD2B. Verena Schöwel explains an approach to relocate mutant dysferlin for restoration of its functionality using short peptides derived from dysferlin.
