Every day up to twelve people come to the NAKO health study’s Berlin-North Study Center to be examined from head to toe. Now, Tobias Pischon and his team at the Max Delbrück Center have welcomed their 5,555th participant. The researcher explains why the data they collect are so important.

With its Music Meets Life Sciences series, the Max Delbrück Center aims to build a bridge between art and science as musicians from the Barenboim-Said Akademie meet with biomedical researchers. In late April, Akademie students gave another concert at MDC-BIMSB, this time playing with Michael Barenboim.

22 young women and girls had the opportunity to experience the day-to-day life of an IT specialist at the Corporate IT or as a researcher at the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin-Buch and Mitte during the Girls’Day event. Boys’Day was also held at the same time.

EASI-Genomics, an EU-funded project designed to facilitate researchers’ access to cutting-edge DNA sequencing technologies, is nearing completion after four years. Janine Altmüller, head of the Genomics Platform, takes stock of what has been accomplished.

Studies conducted by research teams at the Max Delbrück Center and its partner institutions used a total of 54,402 animals in 2022. The Center has now submitted these figures to the Berlin State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LaGeSo).
