This was officially announced by the European Commission on Tuesday. The coordinators of LifeTime in Berlin and Paris were pleased that they can now begin the actual work. Chancellor Merkel praised the initiative. Some 250 top researchers of the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology (BIMSB) will use the facility to study how genes regulate the lives of cells and thus influence health and disease.
