 and Eastern Europe\n\nThe person-centered Dioscuri Programme aims to estab
 lish\ninternationally competitive research groups at Central and Eastern\n
 European scientific institutions with the support of partners from\nGerman
 y (located at any German university or other research\ninstitution). Initi
 ated by the Max Planck Society and funded by the\nGerman Federal governmen
 t as well as the government of the respective\nhost country\, the program 
 is open to applicants from all scientific\nand national backgrounds who wo
 uld like to establish and lead a highly\nvisible research group in this re
 gion. Dioscuri Centres are currently\nbeing established at Czech and Polis
 h research institutions that are\ncapable of providing adequate infrastruc
 ture and that offer an\nenvironment for cutting-edge research. Each Centre
  is funded with up\nto € 300\,000 per annum for an initial five years an
 d can be extended\nfor a further five years after successful evaluation by
  external\nexperts. \n\nTHE FIRST CALL FOR DIOSCURI CENTRES (DCS) IN THE
