For some researchers, a career in industry would never be an option. Others appreciate the practical relevancy of working at a company. Postdocs at the Max Delbrück Center can find out which path is right for them through the “Academy meets Industry” program.

Three Max Delbrück post-docs have won Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships of €174,000 each. They will study how we perceive wetness, the structure of a mitochondrial protein, and integrate bioelectronics into neuromuscular organoids respectively.

Without great scientists, there is no great research. For this reason, the Max Delbrück Center supports young researchers and science managers through various mentoring programs – both internally and externally. In this installment of “We at MDC,” mentees and mentors talk about their experiences.

Partners in industry and research are aiming to optimise the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases with a novel microscopy technique. The QEED research project has been allocated a two-figure million sum in funding. ECRC scientist Hendrik Bartolomaeus is a member of the consortium.

Dr. Eleonora Adami is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Max Delbrück Center. The molecular biologist and geneticist studies heart failure by applying single-cell genomics approaches in the Hübner lab.

With its "Back to the roots" Lab, the Max Delbrück Center aims to enable young international researchers to become ambassadors for Research in Germany in their home countries. It is one of the winners of the DFG Community Prize.
