The MDC Postdoc Association (PDA) is a postdoc-led organization dedicated to supporting and representing the interests of postdoctoral researchers at the MDC.

Our mission
We play a key role in fostering a vibrant community by encouraging networking, social engagement, and scientific collaboration among postdocs. We also aim to serve as a platform for postdocs to voice their concerns and contribute to the development of programs and resources tailored to their needs, while ensuring that the perspectives of postdocs are considered in the institutional strategy.

What do we do?
The PDA organizes regular social events, such as monthly lunch meetings on both campuses, a spring BBQ and a festive winter gathering. Additionally, we also organize the annual PostDoc Day and regular Networking Lunch Seminars. As part of the Helmholtz Association Postdoc Network (HAPN) and the German Postdoc Network (GPN), we also collaborate with larger networks to strengthen postdoc support across Germany. Moreover, we collaborate with the Postdoc Office, Scientific Talent Development team, and several MDC departments to create relevant workshops for postdocs, such as a seminar on research funding, and provide feedback to the Postdoc Office on the needs of the postdoc community.
