Transforming the loud knocking sounds of MRI scanners into techno music to make the procedure more pleasant is the goal of artist Johanna Barnbeck’s and Max Delbrück Center’s Thoralf Niendorf’s science communication project, which is being funded by the Stiftung Charité with approximately €100,000.

Berlin Science Week 2025 kicks off on November 1. The Max Delbrück Center invites science enthusiasts to talks and tours, a concert, and exhibitions highlighting our research and to join discussions on a wide range of topics.

“The Healing Museum” combines art history with meditation, mindfulness, and medical research. The project, which aims to strengthen the mental health of visitors, was created through a collaboration between the Bode Museum and the ECRC and was spearheaded by Carmen Infante Duarte.

Since April 3, MDC-BIMSB in Berlin Mitte has been hosting an exhibition of 40 photographs by iconic photographer Sibylle Bergemann. During the opening, which was attended by her daughter Frieda and granddaughter Lily von Wild, the rooftop terrace was named in Bergemann’s honor.

In her exhibition “Metamorphosis,” Eleonora Adami showcases digital illustrations and cyanotype prints. These works, which invite viewers to reflect on the concepts of change and transformation, will be on display at MDC-BIMSB until the end of January.

The pianist SooJin Anjou and the scientist Nikolaus Rajewsky are both experts in their respective fields. Together, they have created the event series “Spark”: a concert and meet-up for creative people, an exploration to learn from both sides. On March 13th, the series continued at MDC-BIMSB.

Seeing the world through the eyes of Jeanne Mammen – this was the theme of a celebratory evening at Campus Buch to mark the 132nd birthday of the artist and friend of Max Delbrück. The reading officially opened the project CampusArt – Science and Art on the Campus.

Two artworks by sculptor Anna Franziska Schwarzbach have been unveiled at the Berlin-Buch campus to honor two outstanding women scientists of the 20th century. This special occasion, timed to coincide with the 119th birthday of the elder sister, Marthe Vogt, also marked the launch of the new CAMPUSart project.
