Our Team

The Max Delbrück Center provides a vibrant innovation ecosystem that motivates our researchers to develop technologies and products for clinical application, and thus to make a meaningful impact on human health.

Great scientific translation starts with specialized people. Since its creation our team has grown to currently encompass 11 FTEs. Each member combines innovation management experience in the field of intellectual property, or business development with a scientific or entrepreneurial background. This positions us to engage in deep science talk with the researchers while effectively navigating commercial discussions with our business partners.

The Innovation team brings together expertise in innovation management, product management, business development, and venture creation. Combined with our dedicated incubator and validation lab space, we help bold ideas move beyond the academic lab and into real-world healthcare solutions.

New material boosts MRI image quality

MRI scans often struggle to capture clear images of deep or delicate tissues. Researchers at the Max Delbrück Center now report in ​“Advanced Materials” a new lightweight antenna that boosts image quality and may shorten scan times ¬– without changing existing MRI machines.

A jump-start for two spin-offs

This year, the Pre-GoBio program is supporting two planned spin-offs. Paul Schöpe aims to bring a drug targeting colorectal cancer metastases to market. And Ines Lahmann will further develop NMJCare, a model that can be used to test therapies for neuromuscular diseases.

Researchers at the Max Delbrück Center have developed a fast, cost-effective blood-based tool that can identify and classify immune deficiencies with high accuracy. The approach, published in ​“Nature Communications,” could help address long-standing gaps in diagnosing immune disorders.
