One of the best places to work in Berlin
According to a recent survey, anyone who works at the Max Delbrück Center has made a good choice: the research center is now officially one of the best employers and training companies in the capital. The survey ‘Berlins Beste: Arbeitgeber und Ausbildungsbetriebe 2025’ (Berlin's Best: Employers and Training Companies 2025), is intended to provide guidance to job seekers and prospective trainees, and is part of the ‘Berlins Beste’ series. It was conducted by the independent Hamburg-based research institute SWI (Sozialwissenschaftliches Institut Schad) on behalf of the ‘Tagesspiegel’ newspaper.
The SWI wrote to around 10,000 Berlin-based companies. More than 600 of them took part in the survey. They provided information on various topics, such as working time models, health protection, additional benefits, new work, equal opportunities and development possibilities. In the area of training, the focus was on aspects such as supervision, day-to-day training, and training outcomes. In addition, the companies were asked to report on how current developments – such as the shortage of skilled workers – are affecting their everyday operations.
The SWI awarded points for the responses. Companies that achieved at least 70 per cent of the maximum possible points received the award. According to the results, 125 companies can now count themselves among Berlin’s best employers, and 101 among the best training companies in Berlin. No rankings were compiled. The Max Delbrück Center can be proud of its recognition in both categories.
