Abstract
Do metabolic changes follow cell fate decisions during human corticogenesis, or do they actively specify them? Publishing in Cell, Mil et al.1 combine primary human cortical tissue and cortical organoids to reveal developmentally regulated metabolic states and show that glycolysis and pentose phosphate pathway activity shape radial glia fate decisions.
