Architectural Art for the IIC

Five glass sculptures by artist Julia Lohmann will soon adorn the main entrance of the Imaging Innovation Center of the Max Delbrück Center in Buch. Lohmann won an art competition organized by the center for “Innenall,” an artwork inspired by the colors and shapes of microscopic images.
With her installation “Innenall,” the German artist and professor of contemporary design practices at Aalto University in Finland has been named the winner of the “Art in Architecture” competition launched by the Max Delbrück Center in June 2026. The initiative aims to bring together modern research architecture and contemporary art.

All eight works submitted to the competition will be on display in the foyer of the Max Delbrück Communications Center (MDC.C) from November 3 to 16, 2026.

The official opening will take place on November 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Everyone involved in the initiative, as well as interested Max Delbrück Center employees, is warmly invited to attend.

The exhibition will be open to the public from November 3 to 16, 2026, on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
