Amélie Fradet-Turcotte: Genome Integrity under Replication Stress and Viral Attack
It’s a pleasure to invite you to the seminar by Amélie Fradet-Turcotte (Laval University Cancer Research Center), titled “Ubiquitin Signaling at the Replication Fork: Hidden Layers of Regulation” on Friday, 17 April 2026 at 11:00 in Dendrite 2/3, Max Delbrück Center, Berlin-Buch. Poster attached.
Amélie Fradet-Turcotte is Professor at Université Laval and a researcher at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center, where she also holds a Canada Research Chair Tier II in Molecular Virology and Genomic Instability. Her research focuses on how cells safeguard genome integrity, with particular emphasis on ubiquitin signaling and DNA repair pathways during replication stress. A central aspect of her work is understanding how DNA viruses, including human papillomavirus (HPV), hijack and reprogram host DNA damage response pathways to promote infection while compromising genomic stability. Her group dissects how these virus–host interactions reshape chromatin-associated repair mechanisms and contribute to cancer development, as well as how defects in these pathways influence cellular responses to chemo- and radiotherapy.
We look forward to an inspiring talk and lively discussion!
Following the seminar, Amélie will be available for individual meetings. If you would like to schedule a time with her, please contact me or Casey Bass-Clements (caseydale.bassclements@mdc-berlin.de ), who is coordinating her visit.
I hope many of you will join us!
