From Data to Discovery: Scalable Computational Workflows for Modern Biomedical Research
Overview
Modern biomedical research increasingly depends on advanced computing technologies to transform complex datasets into scientific insight. Join researchers from the Max Delbrück Center and MathWorks experts to explore scalable workflows spanning CryoEM, Agentic AI, image analysis, HPC, and emerging quantum computing approaches. Through scientific presentations, interactive discussions, and hands-on sessions, discover practical approaches for accelerating research and tackling computationally intensive scientific challenges.
For interactive session, participants are encouraged to bring their laptops.

Spotlight – Quantum Research Workshop: From Idea to Fundable Proposal
Participants are invited to present a concise idea for a quantum or hybrid quantum–classical research project relevant to biomedical discovery. This interactive session will provide constructive feedback and coaching to help participants assess whether and how their research question could be feasibly implemented on current quantum hardware, clarify the role of quantum processing within the broader HPC workflow, and evaluate readiness for external support opportunities. Promising projects may be developed into applications for the MathWorks Call for Research Proposals, the IBM Quantum Credits Program, and the AWS Cloud Credit for Research Program. Researchers at all stages of project development are warmly encouraged to participate.
