Tomorrow’s medicine: Where can stem cells support?

Stem cells can multiply and develop into different cell types—and that is exactly what makes them so exciting for medicine. But how far has research come? What new therapies could emerge from this? And what does this mean, specifically, for patients?

On 11 September 2026, a public event in Berlin invites you to explore the world of stem cell research — in a way that’s easy to understand, engaging, and requires no prior knowledge.

Under the title “How Is stem cell research shaping tomorrow’s medicine?”, the event will focus on three exciting areas:

Diabetes: Researchers are investigating how cell therapies could open up new treatment options.

Muscle disorders: What hope do new approaches in stem cell research offer for people with muscle disorders?

Organoids: These laboratory-grown models of human organs help researchers better understand diseases and explore new medical approaches.

Short films will introduce the researchers. Afterward, they will discuss the current state of research, new perspectives, as well as opportunities, risks, and limitations.
