MDC Pride 2026

Pride at MDC: Trans Pasts - Trans Futures

We’re excited to invite you to our 5th annual LGBTQI+ symposium at the Max Delbrück Center, an event shaped by our community and rooted in a shared commitment to diversity, openness, and care.

This year, “Trans Pasts - Trans Futures” invites us to take a closer look at the stories, histories, and vibrant cultures connected to trans and gender-nonconforming people, as well as the strong sense of community and solidarity that continues to sustain trans communities. At the same time, we want to provide space for present-day realities: the challenges, uncertainties, and ongoing struggles trans people are facing today, both within and beyond academia.

We will explore the historical and ongoing challenges faced by trans individuals, as well as discuss how we, as individuals and communities, can support trans and gender-nonconforming people and contribute to a more open and inclusive understanding of gender. By bringing these perspectives together, we create a space where people can listen, learn, reflect, and connect across disciplines, experiences, and identities. Understanding the past and engaging with the present are essential to help build a more inclusive and supportive future for all.

The event will feature scientific presentations, discussions and a social gathering.
