2018

Science 2018 Breakthrough of the Year

Based on the potential of single-cell approaches for spurring advances in basic research and medicine, Science magazine recognized a combination of technologies enabling tracking development of organisms and organs cell by cell and through time as the 2018 Breakthrough of the Year. The work of three MDC-BIMSB research groups – Rajewsky lab, Junker lab, Zinzen lab – as well as the pan-European Initiative LifeTime, co-coordinated by MDC-BIMSB, were prominently featured and/or cited in the announcement, confirming the MDC-BIMSB as an international hotspot for single- cell research.
