MDC Summer Meeting 2023 - Let‘s celebrate diversity in science!
DEAR MDC COMMUNITY,
We at the Max Delbrück Center have ample reason to celebrate following a successful evaluation, strategy kick-off, our NIMSB partner institute in Lisbon, HI-TAC as our new Helmholtz institute in Heidelberg, and many other highlights. These accomplishments are the result of contributions from all of you: the people working at the Max Delbrück Center and their diverse input. We would like to celebrate that. Join us at the summer meeting!
We cordially invite you:
Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 3:30 p.m.* at the Buch Campus
"Let's Celebrate Diversity in Science"
We hope all of you from both campuses will come with your families and partners to enjoy an afternoon of celebration and exchange, and to just relax and have fun. This year, we have also invited alumni of the Max Delbrück Center to join us.
We have put together a varied program with active contributions of many members of our community. Of course, there will be music and entertainment. We will have lab tours where you can learn more about your colleagues' research. A campus tour will take you to new buildings and explain future developments on our campus. The Freundeskreis will present this year's Silent Hero Awards. Colleagues will offer a Mediterranean buffet to raise money for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria and victims of the war in Ukraine. You might find a new favorite item at a clothing swap, and of course there will be games and activities for you and your children. And that is just part of the program!
As always, food and drinks will be available. Unfortunately, as a publicly funded research center, we are not allowed to hold internal parties like private companies do. The rules have recently become even stricter. We have raised some money from MDC leadership to help support the event but unfortunately you will still have to pay some for food and drinks. This should not deter us from enjoying the day and good company.
So please sign up and celebrate with us!
We look forward to seeing you and wish you a great afternoon!
*Until 5 p.m., you can count your participation toward work hours.
