Abstract

  • Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) allows for precise quantification of all four cardiac chambers and represents the gold standard for left ventricular mass and systolic function as well as for all four cavity volumes. This information has prognostic importance and implications for the management of heart failure. This chapter reviews the way cardiac chambers and the large vessels should be depicted and analyzed with CMR. Potential pitfalls and areas of uncertainty are discussed.
