Complex diseases like cancer can only be understood by computational analysis of such high-throughput data. The amount of data generated calls for application of statistics and machine-learning in a broad scale.
In the light of this, our research interests are in direction of understanding the genetic and epigenetic control mechanisms of cellular differentiation and complex diseases through computational analysis and integration of high-throughput datasets, such as microarrays and next generation sequencing.
Ultimately, we want to discover genomic and epigenomic anomalies and interaction between them that lead to disease. In addition, we will strive to keep most up-to- date expertise in computational biology and data analysis, and develop tools that provide analysis techniques that are relevant, reproducible and well-documented.
