Mitochondrial single cell-multi-omics for lineage tracing and genetics

Are you interested in single-cell lineage tracing or mitochondrial genetics? Our lab specializes in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) mutations for human lineage tracing and genetics studies. We have previously introduced single-cell sequencing techniques for whole mitochondrial genome sequencing and mtDNA genotyping. As mitochondria contain multiple copies of mtDNA with a high mutation rate, we showed that somatic mtDNA mutations can be used as clonal markers to study cellular population dynamics, thereby also opening up various research avenues to investigate mitochondrial diseases and genetics.

Following the conference ‘Innovations in Single Cell Omics’ on May 12-13, we are hosting a workshop at the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology, to teach you about the concepts, techniques, and computational workflows to dissect mtDNA mutation dynamics. If you are a PhD student or postdoc interested in the topics, this might be right for you! 

The workshop starts on May 14 at 10 am and ends on May 15 at 3 pm. It will include lectures and interactive data analysis sessions. Lunch, refreshments and coffee are provided. No participation fee, but the number of participants is limited. Travel and accommodation have to be organized individually.
