Wirt-Mikrobiom Faktoren in Herz-Kreislauferkrankungen


Viele krankheitsbedingte Erkrankungen beim Menschen - wie das Fortschreiten oder die Genesung von Herz-Kreislauf- oder Stoffwechselerkrankungen - beeinflussen die Genexpression, den Immunstatus und die Zusammensetzung des Darmmikrobioms. Alle diese Eigenschaften können mit Hochdurchsatzverfahren bestimmt werden.

Ziel der Arbeit unserer Gruppe ist es, datenbasierte Modelle zu erstellen, die zeigen, wie sich der menschliche Wirt und das Mikrobiom unter verschiedenen Bedingungen gemeinsam in Richtung Gesundheit oder Krankheit entwickeln. Um all diese Daten interpretieren und nutzen zu können, müssen wir zwischen Kausalität und Korrelation, aber auch zwischen Wirkungen, die sich aus der Behandlung ergeben, und solchen, die sich aus der Krankheit ergeben, unterscheiden.

Um dies zu erreichen, analysieren wir Daten, die mit Hochdurchsatzmethoden von menschlichen Wirten und Mikrobiomen gewonnen wurden, unter Berücksichtigung von Metadaten zur Krankheitsentstehung, Ernährung und Lebensweise. Ziel ist es, ein hochpräzises, quantitatives Verständnis der Wirts-Mikrobiom-Interaktion zu erreichen, das in personalisierte Therapien für die Zukunft umgesetzt werden kann.
