Fundamentals of Scientific Metadata for Health

Dear colleagues,

Do you want to make your research data more findable, reusable and visible? Without proper documentation, your data remains in a file that others cannot interpret or reuse.

Join the course Fundamentals of Scientific Metadata for Health at Max Delbrück Center Buch on January 15–16, 2026, and learn how to describe your data so that others and your future self can easily understand it.

Over two half-day sessions, you will explore what metadata is, why it matters for reproducibility, and how to apply standards and identifiers to make your data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). No prior experience is required, just bring your laptop.

Attendance is free, but places are limited — register today: https://events.hifis.net/event/3116/

The course is organized by the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC), the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA), and the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC). PhD students will receive credit points for participation.

For questions, please contact hida-courses@helmholtz.de.

Warm regards,
Your RDM Team
