Karina Yaniv: The Social Life of Endothelial Cells: Tissue-Specific Interactions in Health and Disease
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming seminar by Karina Yaniv from the Weizmann Institute, who will be sharing insights into the mechanisms that control blood and lymphatic vessel formation during embryonic development and pathological conditions.
The Yaniv Lab, focuses on understanding the mechanisms controlling blood and lymphatic vessel formation during embryonic development and pathological conditions. Above 20 million people die every year from CVDs, representing 30 percent of all global deaths. Today it is widely accepted that many of the genes activated during pathological angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis are the same ones that play major roles in developmental vessel formation. Therefore, studies as those carried out in her laboratory have tremendous potential clinical relevance, and may unearth novel medically useful molecules.
This seminar will be of particular interest to researchers in vascular biology, developmental biology, and translational medicine. We look forward to an engaging discussion and hope you can join us!
If you cannot make it to Buch, please join online.
