Berlin Science Week - "Shaping the Future of Health: The Science of Prevention"

What if the future of medicine focused on maintaining health, rather than treating symptoms? At the Max Delbrück Center, researchers are working toward exactly that: a future where diseases can be detected at the earliest stages, and targeted treatments can begin before symptoms even appear. This session pairs two talks with discussion, exploring how foundational research today is shaping the preventive measures, diagnostic tools, and medical care models of tomorrow — with approaches ranging from biomedical model systems to new therapeutic directions.

Format: Two presentations (15 min each), each followed by an extended exchange with the audience.
