We are excited to announce the next session of our MDC Afternoons for Immunology, a quarterly event aimed at bringing together scientists across diverse immunological backgrounds, enhancing networking, and strengthening connections across the Max Delbrück Center and Berlin.

Keynote

This time, we have a fantastic keynote speaker: Professor Chenqi Xu

Prof. Chenqi Xu (许琛琦) is a Principal Investigator at the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from SIBCB and subsequently trained in immunology with Kai Wucherpfennig at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. In 2009, he returned to Shanghai to establish his independent laboratory. His research investigates the molecular mechanisms controlling T-cell activation, with a particular focus on T-cell receptor signaling, membrane lipid biology and cholesterol metabolism. His laboratory has uncovered fundamental mechanisms through which membrane lipids and cholesterol regulate T-cell signaling and has translated these findings toward the development of cancer immunotherapies.
