OMEICOS is focused on developing therapies that have the potential for significant impact on cardiovascular, inflammatory, and mitochondrial diseases with high unmet need. Our pipeline is based on our proprietary approach to target one of nature’s most important cell-protective pathways and industry-leading knowledge of omega‑3 fatty acid metabolism and biology.

The Problem

Primary mitochondrial diseases (PMD) encompass diverse debilitating conditions, such as MELAS and MIDD, significantly impacting patients’ physical and neurological health. Despite the therapeutic promise of omega‑3 fatty acid metabolites, their inadequate metabolic stability hinders drug development, resulting in an unexploited opportunity to enhance treatment for these life-threatening disorders.

The Solution

OMEICOS has developed OMT-28, a first-in-class small molecule therapeutics for mitochondrial and inflammatory disorders. It is a metabolically robust synthetic analogue of omega‑3 fatty acid-derived epoxyeicosanoids, with demonstrated clinical activity. OMT-28 has completed and demonstrated positive Phase 2 outcomes in patients with Primary Mitochondrial Disease (PMD). A proof of concept clinical study to confirm its effect on Coronary Artery Disease is being planned currently.
